How to Use Hazelwood Kids Necklaces
Put necklace on and leave it on as long as possible. The necklaces should be replaced every 4 months for those that have the safety-clasp feature. Otherwise, necklaces with regular clasp should last anywhere between 3 and 6 months depending on acidity level in your body. Some customers have said their necklace lasted 12 months so it does vary.
When to Take Hazelwood Necklace Off
HazelwoodThe hazelwood necklaces are ok to wear in the shower or bath but like all natural wood, as it gets wet it will expand and over time the appearance may diminish. The effectiveness of the hazelwood will not be affected however, it just may not look as nice.
Take necklace off before going into chlorinated water.

Replacing Your Hazelwood or Amber Necklace

Look on the sides of the hazelwood pieces and you will notice at first that it is all the same color. As it absorbs acid the edges will darken (as if you soaked it in oil). You will also notice your symptoms coming back. You should replace your necklace at this time.
Also, if your necklace breaks for some reason or the wood chips are splintered you should also replace it, especially if you are using it for baby. The string is a metal thread covered in nylon and provides great durability.
